The families of the Beirut Port victims confirmed in a statement today, that they have nothing to do with the invitations circulated to gather at 11 o’clock in front of the Palace of Justice in Beirut, some in favor of Judge Ghassan Oweidat and some calling for his dismissal.
“It is important for us as the families of the victims to warn of these calls that aim for causing violence and bloodshed in the streets,” the statement said.
It concluded by urging “everyone to be vigilant and not to be drawn towards those who try to drag us into strife,” and to “follow up on the calls for action that come exclusively from the families of the victims.”
